Additional Research Sources

The following is a list of additional sources with considerable information on Clark County.

Settlers of the Silver Sage

Author: Bonnie Stoddard; Clark County Historian
Publisher: Clark County Historical Society and Clark County Centennial Committee
This book, edited by the County Historian of Clark County is an exceptional documentation of citizens, stories and lives of the county as recalled by a number of Clark County residents.  Containing 1,302 pages, it provides a vast amount of information, but reads like a novel at times.  This was completed in 1992 and was a commemoration to the State of Idaho’s and the county seat of Clark County’s (Dubois) 100th birthdays. However it covers more than 120 years of historical events and families in and surrounding the present day Clark County.  The book includes over 1,500 individual and family histories and stories, and over 1,300 photographs which were provided by Clark County families and genealogists.  As you read this book, keep in mind it was often as “…someone recalled” the events in their lives, and so still needs to be documented.  Enjoy.
